schoolhouse beach

Schoolhouse Beach is on a cove that is a sheltered harbor with a smooth stone beach. The beach got its name from the log schoolhouse built there in 1850. There is a fine for anyone removing stones from the beach.

Schoolhouse Beach got its name from a schoolhouse that was built there back in 1850. The school was made of logs. The beach consists of, instead of sand, millions of smooth stones. Bring your flip flops along because this beach is very difficult to walk on when you don't have some type of foot covering.
